Princess Anne and Prince Edward are thought to be “quietly supporting Prince Andrew” amid his royal feud.

The Duke of York, 64, is understood to have been encouraged to move out of Royal Lodge, his Windsor home since 2003.

However, according to new reports, the Princess Royal and the Duke of Edinburgh are “quietly supporting” Prince Andrew in his feud with the King.

Some commentators have suggested that Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh could make good options to move into Royal Lodge, should Andrew be forced to leave.

But Richard Kay, a royal author, has disputed these claims due to the duke’s alleged “loyalty” to his older brother.

Writing in The Mail, Kay said: “The Edinburghs have their own home, Bagshot Park, which they hold on a long lease from the Crown Estate, and insiders suggest that transplanting them into Royal Lodge could dramatically disrupt family dynamics.

“It is also significant that Edward and Princess Anne have both quietly supported their brother Andrew’s desire to carry on where he is.

“All this, of course, hardly matters if Prince Andrew refuses to move.”

Kay also suggested that Prince Edward sometimes “loyally joins” Prince Andrew on his horse rides in Windsor.
