As Princess Kate becomes a focal point of discussions in the United States, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appear to be losing their relevance, according to a royal insider.

Despite the Duke and Duchess of Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍’s move to California nearly five years ago, their influence seems to be waning, while the Princess of Wales is commanding attention across the Atlantic.

The couple relocated to Montecito in 2020 after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family, hoping to carve out a new life and public presence in the U.S.

However, a close friend and adviser to the Royal Family revealed that Harry and Meghan have struggled to maintain their standing.

“What they haven’t been able to do is create a public presence that’s respected and popular,” the source told The Times.

“I was in LA recently and was struck by how they’re not the topic of conversation. Everyone wanted to know about the King and Kate’s health. Harry and Meghan have dropped out of the conversation.”
Health Challenges Bring Royal Family into Focus

Much of the recent attention surrounding Princess Kate stems from her health battles earlier this year. In January, she underwent major abdominal surgery and spent two weeks recovering in the London Clinic hospital. Then, in March, the Princess publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer, a shocking announcement that resonated deeply with the public.

In her video message, Kate shared that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment, drawing widespread support and concern for her well-being. Prince Harry has not seen his father since February 2024, when he made a brief visit to the UK following King Charles’s cancer diagnosis. The Prince reportedly spent just 45 minutes with his father at Clarence House before swiftly returning to California.

The last public encounter between Prince Harry and Princess Kate occurred at King Charles’s Coronation in May 2023. Since then, there has been little interaction between the Sus𝓈ℯ𝓍es and the Prince and Princess of Wales, with reports suggesting that they are not currently on speaking terms.
